Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Thelonious Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at thelonious.net (the “Site”).
This policy should be read alongside our Thelonious Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and supply information to the owners of the site.
- Session cookies: These are temporary and expire once you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: These remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
How we use cookies
We use cookies on the Site for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary: These keep the Site working and secure, and remember the choices you make in our cookie banner. They cannot be switched off.
- Analytics: With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site — for example, which pages are read and where visitors arrive from — so that we can improve it. These cookies are not set unless you accept them.
- Third-party content: Some pages include content provided by other services. For example, our ICYMI newsletter sign-up form is provided by Substack. These services may set their own cookies when you interact with their content, and their use of those cookies is governed by their own cookie and privacy policies.
The Site is hosted by Fasthosts in the United Kingdom. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. Analytics data is processed by Google, which may transfer it to the United States. Any such transfer is protected by the safeguards described in Section 8 of our Privacy Policy.
